History
Robot Lovers,
power pop rock band, came together in the summer of 2002 as a trio
to perform covers of 80s new wave tunes by artists such as
The Police, The Knack, U2 and The Stray Cats. Co-founders
Gerry Paz (bass guitar, bass fiddle and vocals) and
Brian Sabalinski (drums and vocals) envisioned the band as a welcome
choice to the alternative, grunge and heavy metal bands that comprised
Detroits live music scene.
After several
fruitless auditions, the pair enlisted Derf (guitar and vocals)
to complete the bands initial lineup. As a trio, they scorched
stages throughout southeastern Michigan until early 2005, when they
decided to add Chuck
on lead vocals, acoustic guitar and keyboards. In June 2007, Paz
left to tend to his burgeoning business and Steve joined on bass
and bass synth. This band screams!
Robot Lovers
specialize in making a four-piece band sound much larger than it
actually is because of the chemistry of Steve, Brian, Chuck and
Derf. Come
out and witness their masterful and enthusiastic performances
of 80s tunes much loved, but long forgotten, by the masses.
You won't be disappointed.
